Done.TECHNICAL MANUAL (INSTALLATION, OPERATORu2019S, AND PARTS. They have two wires, the red one connects to the ignition switch so it's on whenever the key switch is on, the black wire connects to the vehicle frame. The maintained fuel pressure from the electric fuel pump makes the engine run much better than the old mechanical pump ever did. These fuel pumps haven't been made for years, so a direct replacement likely has bad rubber parts from just sitting on a shelf, so is not a good solution, but a waste of money. I abandoned the mechanical fuel pump and installed an electric fuel pump, which eliminated the mechanical fuel pump, the bypass filter, and the return line fuel hoses at a cost of less than half of what a mechanical fuel pump was selling for on Ebay. The master cylinder that I needed was on their shelf, and I got it new for less than half of what it was selling for on Ebay.
The forklift repair shops used to service the Cushman Trucksters when they were being used in industrial sites, so the one near me has been able to get me carburetor parts and brake parts. OMC engine parts can be purchased from also has some OMC engine parts, but they don't claim to sell anything but Cushman Scooter parts, however, one model of the Cushman Scooters used a one cylinder version of the OMC engine which is identical in every way to the two cylinder OMC engines, except for having only one cylinder. The master cylinder is also a direct match to one for a forklift truck.įinding parts takes time. The brake shoes are identical to those of a Forklift Truck. However, it can be ground off and the cylinder can then be used in a Cushman Truckster. The wheel cylinder is almost the same, but there is a bump on the Ford casting that is not on the Cushman cylinder. The brake cylinder rebuild kits for my Truckster are identical to the early 1970's Ford F-100 pickup truck brake cylinders. Sometimes taking the old part to the store will help someone there remember the part and find it for you. Many parts are actually still on the shelves in auto parts stores, but there is no Cushman cross reference to help find them.
They were bought by Cushman to be included in the building of their vehicles. The steering, engine, transmission, differential parts and part numbers will sometimes help you find a replacement part, but many of these parts were OEM. You won't likely find any sheet metal body parts anywhere, even if you find the part number for it in the manual.

You will probably need to check the first few pages of the manuals to see if your model number is included. Instead, Cushman made manuals that covered many different model numbers. A separate manual wasn't produced for each model. These manuals on the Silly Little Cars website are the only parts and service manuals that I've found and they directly apply to my 1987 four wheeled Truckster. Is it 3 or 4 wheeled? What engine does it have? The more that you can tell us or show us will better help us identify more about it. Can you post a picture of your Cushman? I or other members here might be able to identify more about it from the picture, especially if you can't find the stamped plate giving the dash and digits of the date code. In this, the two digits immediately following the dash are the year of manufacture. Although the 6 digit model number is stamped in several places on the Truckster, this plate is the only place that the model number is stamped with a dash following the 6 digits, and then several additional digits. Cushman didn't change much from year to year, so even if it isn't listed as being covered in them, much of the wiring diagrams, and other information should be close to your Truckster.Do you know what year that your Truckster was made? If you can find the stamped metal plate that shows the model number (usually it's to the left of the steering wheel and below the dashboard. I'm not certain that the 826767 manuals that are on cover the 898507 Truckster, but they cover most of the models of Trucksters made in the 80's and early 90's.
